Sesame seeds distributed to 920 farmers in Tanzania

By October 2011, Farm Africa aims to help 920 sesame farmers in Babati, Tanzania, to increase their income by 25%.  In recent months these farmers have received sesame seeds from Farm Africa and training in how to plant them.

Irish potatoes in Southern Sudan

In some parts of Southern Sudan, farmers traditionally rely on their sorghum crops to provide the food they need to feed their families.  Farm Africa is enabling farmers to grow a variety of vegetables and herbs, including cabbages, coriander and even Irish potatoes to reduce their reliance on one crop.

First six aqua shops open in western Kenya!

Farm Africa and partners welcome the opening of six new aqua shops in Nyando and Samia districts in Western Kenya as part of a scheme to encourage farmers to become involved in small-scale fish farming to spread livelihood improvements in Kenya.

Seeds, tools and training are reaping rewards for farmers in Kenya

In 2010 we trained over 6,600 Kenyan farmers in dryland farming techniques and provided them with the seeds and tools they needed to put these techniques into practice.
