Finding markets for forest products

Last month members of 13 forest communities (from two regions) in Ethiopia attended week long training courses run by Farm Africa. Participants learnt how to find out which of the forest products that are abundant near their homes could be turned into profitable businesses.

Growing impact of Tanzanian schools project

Thanks to Farm Africa pupils at 215 primary schools in Tanzania’s Manyara region are now learning practical farming skills at school.  A range of classroom posters and books covering topics such as rearing chickens, planting maize and growing vegetables are also being produced.

Tools and training in Southern Sudan

In the past few months over 900 agricultural tools have been distributed in eight districts of Southern Sudan.  But it isn’t just tools – we have also established 12 demonstration plots where farmers can learn about new agricultural techniques and crops.
